Cisco Certified IT Instructor, Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies

Sharon Angus has been a Cisco Certified IT Instructor in the Information Technology Support Specialist (ITSS) program at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) since 2020. With more than 20 years in the information technology sector, she has spent her career supporting Indigenous organizations — including Thunderchild First Nation, Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs, Saskatoon Tribal Council, and SIIT.
At SIIT she teaches across the nine-month ITSS program, which prepares students for careers in technical support and network administration — hardware and software support, Networking 1 and 2 (Cisco CCNA Levels 1 and 2), virtualization, cybersecurity, Windows Server administration, support and service management, professional competencies, and Microsoft Office applications.
In 2008 she was one of eleven recipients of the Cisco First Nations Awards of Excellence, following Cisco CCNA Instructor training in Scarborough, Ontario, and in 2025 she received an Instructor Above and Beyond award from Cisco Networking Academy. Cisco's 2022 impact report counted only eleven active Cisco Certified Instructors in Saskatchewan — three of them women — placing Sharon in a small and distinguished group of technology educators in the province.
A proud member of both Thunderchild First Nation in Saskatchewan and Akwesasne, which spans Ontario, Quebec, and New York State, Sharon is of Plains Cree and Mohawk heritage. She lives in Saskatoon on Treaty 6 Territory.
At the Saskatchewan AI & Tech Summit 2027, Sharon speaks to advancing IT education and creating opportunities for Indigenous learners building careers in technology.
